SubseaPartner, a Norwegian diving contractor, recently signed a long-term framework partnership with energy giant Equinor to provide dive intervention services.
The framework agreement focuses on Equinor's contingency readiness as the primary user of this pipeline repair system and subsea intervention (PRSI) pool, which includes 23 other operating firms. The framework agreement also covers planned actions within routine field operations, building projects, and changes.
The arrangement runs from 4Q 2023 to 4Q 2027, with extensions available until 2031. This framework agreement also includes planned actions within routine field operations, building projects, and adjustments.
SubseaPartner will perform surface-supplied diving operations according to Equinor's requirements, including offshore oil and gas (O&G) installations and wind farms, as well as inshore locations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS), UK Continental Shelf (UKCS), and internationally.
"In terms of moderate in-field expansion and energy security, the offshore diving intervention has become more important to operators' demands for safe, cost-effective, and adaptable services in the shallow deep segment (0-50 MSW)." Anders Remøy Bertelsen, Managing Director of SubseaPartner, stated that "this demonstrates the adaptability of diving intervention and strengthens the company's position in the future of offshore oil and gas, as well as floating offshore wind."
The initial stage of work entails the engineering, planning, design, manufacturing, and and commissioning of a new diver launch and recovery system, while the second phase involves surface-supplied diving operations to complete the Jotun FPSO hook-up in the North Sea.
Also, SubseaPartner has secured a contract to provide a new diver launch and recovery system in the North Sea for Vår Energi.
