Seaway7, a subsidiary of Subsea7 awarded a significant contract to Helix Robotics Solutions for inter-array cable burial at the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm in the UK.
The project, set to begin in Q3 2026, will span over 300 days. Helix Robotics Solutions will be responsible for burying all 192 inter-array cables, covering approximately 500 kilometers. Engineering and survey support will be provided from Helix’s Aberdeen offices.
To execute this scope of work, Helix plans to deploy the Grand Canyon III trenching support vessel, equipped with the T1500 jet trencher, i-Trencher trenching system, a work-class remotely operated vehicle, and specialized survey services.
Seaway7 initially secured the contract for the transport and installation of the inter-array cables at Ørsted’s Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm in October 2024. Located 160 kilometers off the Yorkshire coast, Hornsea 3 represents a major step in advancing offshore renewable energy.
