Cadeler has secured a vessel reservation agreement with Ocean Winds for the transportation and installation of approximately 30 wind turbines at the BC-Wind offshore wind farm in the Polish Baltic Sea. The installation will be carried out using one of Cadeler’s O-class vessels, with the project expected to be completed in 2028.
The potential value of the contract, which will be negotiated during the reservation period, is estimated to be between EUR 48 million and EUR 56 million.
Situated around 23 kilometers off the coast near Krokowa and Choczewo in Poland’s Pomeranian Voivodeship, the BC-Wind offshore wind farm is planned to have a total capacity of up to 500 MW. This marks Ocean Winds’ first project in Poland.
In October 2024, Ocean Winds signed an agreement with Bureau Veritas Poland to certify the BC-Wind offshore wind farm, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Meanwhile, Cadeler has been actively expanding its offshore wind portfolio. In February 2024, the company signed a contract with Ørsted and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna for the transport and installation of Siemens Gamesa 14 MW wind turbines at the Baltica 2 project, which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.
Additionally, in July 2023, Cadeler secured a contract with Baltic Power for the installation of 76 Vestas 15 MW offshore wind turbines at the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, with installation work set to begin in 2025.
Further strengthening its presence in Poland, Cadeler signed firm contracts with Equinor and Polenergia joint ventures in October 2023 for turbine installation at the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms, with operations scheduled to start in 2027.
This collaboration between Ocean Winds and Cadeler highlights the growing momentum of Poland’s offshore wind industry as it moves toward large-scale renewable energy development.
