DORIS, a France-based pioneer in energy engineering, counsel, including project management, recently announced its acquisition of WINDGLAZ, an expert in the analysis and optimisation of fixed offshore wind, floating offshore wind, and floating solar systems.
The collaboration has the potential to enable both companies to offer clients access, to integrated solutions for the design, analysis, and installation of offshore wind setups. WINDGLAZ's focused ability emerged through involvement in the first French fixed and floating wind energy projects. WINDGLAS addresses multifaceted numerical models and leads innovative projects through critical design phases.
Pierrick Sauvage, Doris' head of offshore design, added: "This acquisition strengthens Doris and Windglaz's successful cooperation on pilot and commercial wind farm projects in South Korea using high-power range turbines."
"We are delighted to be offering high-quality, comprehensive services to our worldwide clients, combining Doris' high-quality and competitive design solutions with Windglaz's recognised expertise in turbine modelling and coupled analysis."
DORIS' range of services to the offshore wind market will grow with the acquisition of WINDGLAS, featuring expertise in areas like load computation and aerodynamic modelling.
The WINDGLAZ’s founder, Cyril Bourgoin, stated, "Our generic turbine models from 1 to 24 Megawatts, and our ability to quickly adapt to the specificities and modelling interfaces of each system and each project, are key assets to support our customers, from tender phases to detailed design."
"We are glad to join the global DORIS Group and offer integrated engineering solutions to our clients. Our position within DORIS will allow us to expedite the development of our load calculation service while maintaining the independence of our offering."
