A large gas and condensate discovery has been found by Norwegian oil and gas company Wellesley Petroleum at a project in the North Sea off the coast of Norway. One of the rigs maintained by Odfjell Drilling was used for the drilling operation.
A week after receiving approval from the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) for exploration drilling in North Sea block 35/10, Wellesley Petroleum received a drilling license from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) for the well 35/10-10 S. The Deepsea Yantai rig, formerly known as the Beacon Atlantic, is owned by China's CIMC and operated by Odfjell Drilling. It was used for drilling operations.
