JFD inks a contract with TechnipFMC to support their present and potential worldwide diving operations.

JFD, a division of James Fisher and Sons plc and a pioneer in undersea capabilities services for the commercial and defence diving industries, recently executed a contract with TechnipFMC to enhance portable hyperbaric rescue capability (PHRF) and worldwide diver safety support.

It is critical to have a Hyperbaric Reception contingency in place during saturation diving operations so that divers can Transfer Under Pressure (TUP) into a Hyperbaric Lifeboat and transmit to a safe, secure, and medically supervised institution where the decompression process may take place. As worldwide diving activities grow, there is a growing demand for PHRFs that can be deployed at the closest specified port of recovery to the dive location.

JFD has continued to offer hyperbaric reception solutions to TechnipFMC since 2007, comprising a  unit at its National Hyperbaric Centre (NHC) in Aberdeen and portable HRF assets that can be mobilised across the entire globe. The three-year collaboration involves TechnipFMC UK and worldwide diving operations with PHRF and Life Support Packages (LSP), it will be backed by JFD experts.

Danny Grey, JFD Commercial Diving and Hyperbaric Director stated, "JFD is pleased to continue our support and partnership with TechnipFMC, among of the world's leading diving contractors, as they aim to enhance the performance and efficiency of their operations while maintaining quality and safety at the forefront."

"This contract renewal reflects not just the industry's continuous commitment to diver safety, but also JFD's ability to respond to client needs by offering an efficient and resilient solution that supports modern-day worldwide diving operations."

JFD has four PHRF assets worldwide. It also operates a 24-man facility at its National Hyperbaric Centre in Aberdeen, which is backed up by an upscale hyperbaric medical facility.
