Recently, France Hydrogène and the Scottish Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Association (SHFCA) have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering collaboration and cooperation. This collaboration aims to accelerate the transition to net zero by tapping into the combined resources of over 650 member organisations in the expanding hydrogen sector.
The Memorandum of Understanding concentrates on collaborative projects, knowledge sharing, strengthening capacities, resource sharing, government backing, and industry recognition.
Scottish Government Energy Minister Gillian Martin stated, "This strategic partnership between the Scottish Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Association and France Hydrogène will help to accelerate hydrogen development in both countries." It is a partnership that will assist skill development, promote company growth, and drive critical research and development efforts to expedite technology deployment in this critical decade for our energy transition."
Philippe Boucly of France Hydrogène stated a desire to enhance ties with SHFCA and its members, including Triton Hydrogen, concentrating on crucial issues such as climate change mitigation, energy security, and economic growth. Nigel Holmes noted that this new collaboration with France Hydrogène is an important step towards developing a successful hydrogen economy across Europe, using their combined membership's extensive knowledge.
Nigel Holmes, Chief Executive of SHFCA, added: "I am happy that we have formed this new and forward-thinking Auld Alliance with France Hydrogene to assist speed the deployment of hydrogen and fuel cells. This will help develop a successful hydrogen economy across Europe by using the knowledge of our combined membership of over 650 organisations in our rapidly expanding industry."
