Norway-based cleantech service provider Soiltech has signed a five-year contract with Southeastern Europe’s energy company OMV Petrom for the Neptun Deep project, the largest natural gas development in the Romanian Black Sea. This contract, valued at an estimated $10 million for an initial 18-month duration, is set to commence this year.
Under the agreement, Soiltech ASA and its Romanian subsidiary will supply advanced technologies for handling drill cuttings, including storage equipment for the Transocean Barents drilling rig and platform supply vessels (PSVs), along with tools for cleaning storage tanks.
“We are proud to be selected by OMV Petrom for the Neptun Deep project, which we see as a recognition of our commitment to delivering safe, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions,” said Jan Erik Tveteraas, CEO of Soiltech.
Additionally, Soiltech recently announced a call-off order under its frame agreement with Norwegian state-owned Equinor. This order covers drilling waste management services for the Grane field in Norway, located about 185 kilometers west of Haugesund, with operations expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025.
The Equinor agreement, lasting until June 2026 with potential extensions up to 2034, is valued at over NOK 20 million ($1.8 million) for a 12-month period. Soiltech’s services will focus on managing offshore solid waste, primarily drill cuttings.
These contracts underscore Soiltech’s growing presence in the offshore energy sector, showcasing its expertise in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions.
