Elogen, a leading technology company and part of the Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) group, has joined the German offshore wind-to-hydrogen initiative, AquaVentus.
According to the LinkedIn post, this groundbreaking project aims to produce one million tonnes of green hydrogen annually from offshore wind energy in the North Sea and deliver it to land via pipeline.
AquaVentus, with over 100 companies, organizations, and research institutes collaborating, is setting the stage for the installation of 10GW of green hydrogen generation capacity across Europe. Key sub-projects like AquaPrimus, AquaCampus, and the AquaDuctus hydrogen pipeline—the North Sea's "hydrogen backbone"—are rapidly taking shape, marking significant progress toward a sustainable energy future.
Elogen’s involvement strengthens its commitment to green energy, building on its expertise in offshore electrolysis. Acquired by GTT in 2020, Elogen is on track to commercialize at least 400 MW of electrolysis capacity annually by 2030.
This partnership marks a major step forward in the global transition to renewable energy.
