In the context of a power-from-shore project at a recently approved North Sea offshore Norway development, Norwegian oil and gas company Aker BP ASA BP has chosen Multiconsult Norge AS to provide civil engineering, consultation, and supervision services.
The Yggdrasil electricity from shore project is covered under the contract, which is valid through the end of 2027 and has an estimated value of roughly NOK 400 million, or about $37.4 million. This undertaking is anticipated to offer Yggdrasil a low-emission, reliable power source.
A Stavanger-based integrated interaction centre and control room will be used to remotely manage the entire Yggdrasil region. With less than 1 lb CO2 per barrel of emissions due to the development being shore-powered.
