AGR, a subsidiary of ABL Group, an Oslo-listed worldwide energy, marine, and engineering consultant, recently extended its agreement with Equinor for performing blowout and well control studies on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS).
Following the new two-year arrangement, AGR will offer services such as blowout contingency planning, well control emergency response, casing magnetization, and general transient flow analysis.
Morten Haug Emilsen, AGR's Manager for Well Control, stated, "The contract strengthens our long-standing relationship with the largest operator on the NCS. In fact, since 1991, we have done over 250 studies for Equinor, and we want to expand on this expertise and knowledge in the coming years."
"This deal with Equinor strengthens AGR's position as a significant service provider, particularly in critical areas like blowout and well control studies. "Working with Equinor is consistent with our commitment to excellence and safety in the oil and gas industry," Emilsen continued.
Since last year's consolidation with Add Energy, AGR has strengthened its standing in well and reservoir engineering, drilling, and technical safety operations, delivering comprehensive services to the oil and gas sector throughout the well's lifecycle.
AGR was awarded a five-year contract with Vår Energi to provide blowout and well control studies, along with ancillary services. In December 2023, the company was also awarded a well management contract for a deepwater exploration well in the Sinapa licence offshore Guinea-Bissau.
