Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure contractual requirements are clear for adequate Quality assurance and control.
  • Ensure full involvement in project team w.r.t. Quality.
  • Ensure right use of internal and contractual processes.
  • Ensure Quality awareness in projects e.g. Quality toolbox.
  • Interact with project team in HAZIDS and HAZOPS.
  • Ensure compliance of quality related subcontractor’s documents.
  • Management of non-conformances.
  • Allocate Quality staff.
  •  Coordinate Quality staff according to project requirements.
  • Ensure performance of QC inspectors and specialists.
  • Prepare tender reviews and advice tender team in Quality matters.
  • Assist project team in Quality matters; QA and QC related.
  • Prepare Project QA documents( PQP, PQCP, Register set-up etc.).
  • Set-up of NCR register.
  • Project Quality reporting, periodically.
  • Initiate Project Quality meeting.
  • Attend risk sessions e.g. HAZID, HAZOP.
  • Conduct vendor audits, project driven.
  • Review of design package (SoW, constructability check, compliance with specs).
  • Assist QC Supervisor with subcontractor readiness reviews.
  • Review (and approval) of Subcontractor documents.
  • Prepare risk based Project ITP.
  • Coordinate Pre Inspection Meetings, inspections.
  • Set up and maintain working files that allow access to details relating to assignment packages, inspection reports, photographs, technical deviations, NCR’s, Inspection release notes, Despatch dossiers, and Manufacturing data books.
  • Monitor the work and performance (according to the work instruction) of assigned inspectors and local inspection agency personnel.
  • Providing input of vendor / subcontractors performance to Quality Manager/Project Manager.
  • Close-out of NCRs.

Candidate Profile

  •  At least 8 years’ strong experience, leadership and knowledge in project quality activities, welding inspection, NDT techniques, coating procedures and application, materials and their specifications and industry related norms and standards
  • Strong empathy with proactive quality management and “FIRST TIME RIGHT” principle
  • MBO or HBO technical degree.
  • Inspection level 3 e.g. CSWIP3.2 / IKT 2 or 3.
  • I.W.T. or I.W.E.
  • Safety certificate e.g. VCA VOL.
  • NACE level 2 or 3, FROSIO 2 or 3 (if applicable).
  • Communicatively strong.
  • Highly independently.
  • Leadership competences.
  • Supervision on Client and project management level.
  • English, Dutch written and spoken.
  • Office skills e.g. Word, Excel, Power-Point.
  • Ability of focus of 6 months.
  • Ability of being creative, flexible, resourceful in stressful or difficult situations
  • Ability of implementation w.r.t. project improvements, discipline guidelines and project procedures.

Allowances and deductions applicable for this role:

The total Day Rate excludes:

  • Accommodation and (flight) ticket costs.
  • Transport during project (if applicable).
  • Meals/food/beverage/ food allowance on site for Project Management.
  • Additional cost for extra safety gear not part of personal protective equipment.
  • Additional costs for extra training not specified in the Request for Quotation.
  • Visa and immigration cost.
  • VAT/ BTW.

Travel costs:

  • For travel costs from the place of residence to the airport and vice versa and the private expenses incurred during the trip to and from the country of employment, marine crew receives a fixed compensation of EUR 25 per one-way trip. Supplier can charge this compensation to van Oord after each one-way trip.
    Non-productive rate: travel mode/ training mode/ standby mode = 50% of the Total Day rate.
  • Overtime: work time performed after the end of a full 12 hour working day, which is calculated onwards from the end of the 13th hour up to the end of a full 24 hour calendar day.
