The Norwegian oil and gas giant Equinor has given SLB OneSubsea, an alliance of SLB, Aker Solutions, and Subsea7, a major contract for the second phase of Phase 3 of the North Sea Troll project.
Troll field, which is in the northern North Sea, is being expanded. It is connected to the Troll A Condeep platform through an eight-well project.
Two-thirds of the estimated 24 million barrels of oil equivalent in the field are thought to be oil, while the remaining one-third are thought to be gas and natural gas liquids. Q4 2026 is the goal for the first oil.
SLB OneSubsea will make use of adaptable solutions that comply with NCS2017+ for standardised subsea production systems for deployment on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) in order to expedite field delivery of the subsea tieback to current infrastructure. Accelerating output from the reservoir to the tune of around 55 billion standard cubic metres of gas is the aim of Troll Phase 3, Stage 2.

After Equinor announced that it would invest over NOK 12 billion, or nearly $1.13 billion, in expanding the gas infrastructure in the Troll West area through the second stage of the Troll Phase 3 (TP3 II) project, to accelerate reservoir production and maintain high gas export levels from the Troll and Kollsnes value chain through 2030, the contract award, which OneSubsea considers "sizeable," followed.
