Saipem, an Italian provider of engineering, drilling, and construction services, has been awarded two new E&C offshore contracts in Germany and Romania with a combined value of over EUR 1.8 billion ($1.97 billion).
The National Agency for Mineral Resources of Romania just approved the Neptun Deep gas development project, and the first contract is with OMV Petrom for that project. This project is situated in the Black Sea region of Romania. Among the tasks included in the scope of work are the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCIC) of a gas processing platform at a depth of approximately 100 metres, three subsea developments at a depth of about 1,000 metres in the Domino field.
On the other hand, Saipem was given the contract in Germany by GASCADE Gastransport GmbH to carry out the Ostsee Anbindungsleitung pipelaying in the Pomeranian Bay in northeastern Germany.
