Google has officially launched the Nuvem transatlantic submarine cable system, a major digital infrastructure project designed to create a new high-capacity data corridor between Portugal and the United States. The approximately 7,000-kilometer cable will connect Sines, Portugal, with Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with additional landing points in the Azores and Bermuda.
The Nuvem system features 16 pairs of fiber-optic cables with a total design capacity of approximately 384 terabits per second, significantly increasing transatlantic data transmission capacity.
